Additional Account Security

During the last few days, we have seen a noticeable increase in unauthorized attempts to login to different user accounts. The unauthorized attempts are not unusual, and we have checks in place to block such attempts. However, since there has been an increase in such attempts, we have added additional level of security to the platform.

We will now send a verification code to your email if the device being used to login to your account has previously not been verified by you.

While it may add a bit of inconvenience, this is an important step which will offer additional security to protect your account. If you continue to use the same device to access Squadhelp in future, we will automatically skip the verification step.

There are few additional actions we strongly recommend:

  • If you use the same password across other websites and registrars, we recommend changing the password immediately to a strong password which is unique for each platform.
  • Check your email using a tool such as https://haveibeenpwned.com/. You will be able to see if your email and other credentials might have been included in a recent or past data breach from another website. It is possible that people who may have access to these data sets might try to login to other websites using the same credentials, therefore it is important to change the password if your email is included in any such data breaches.
  • If you receive a verification email from Squadhelp, you will also be able to see the location and IP address of the person who attempted to login to your account. If you do not recognize the location or if you did not attempt a login, please report it to Squadhelp team and change your password.
  • Some users have informed us that they are not receiving emails from Squadhelp. We suggest checking the Bulk or Promotion folder in those cases. If you are using an email forwarding service, it is possible that some of these emails may be getting blocked by your email provider. We are now also sending the same Verification code directly to your account’s Chat window as well as via our chat email. If you still do not receive the verification code, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you.

I received a notification a few days ago that E**K had a data breach. So, it doesn’t seem like a coincidence that the stolen info from there was used to try to get in here.
