Also, @grant, so sorry to keep pulling your ear here (maybe eye? lol still works, anyhow ...) but I had one other question suggestion that may help SH and may also help creatives feel better. Can we now start classifying splits as 'won' contests? I think differing between CH chosen contests and SH awarded contests were once great and adequate and they were appropriate. However, with all the changes in policy, algorithm, making contests more beneficial for CHs, that it's now time to think of won contests as won contests without distinction. The way the algorithm is based to award contests in the case of abandonment already sets the bar that you have to be in good standing, you have to have good ratings, and you're part of a group of select individuals (either ch chosen or merit-based) that are chosen to win that contest. I don't think it matters anymore who or what is doing the choosing. A win should be a win without distinction because the rules, policies, shortlists, and ratings already define the distinction without needing more. You win a contest -- one way or another you earned it and it should be seen that way. I mean, we should just lump wins together into one metric and no longer have two and each win should factor into overall rank now because of the weight the policies have on being able to win non-ch selected contests.. Just my opinion.
